I want to take a brief moment to introduce myself and give you a little bit of background information on me. My name is Ivette Galindo and I am the School Counselor at Collins Elementary. This is my second year at Collins. Before becoming a counselor I was an elementary school teacher for 10 years here in El Paso. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida, a Master’s Degree in Special Education from UTEP, and a School Counseling Certification from Region 19.
My goals as a School Counselor is to provide guidance and support to students with any issue that may be impacting their academic achievement and growth or social emotional well-being. I conduct monthly guidance lessons in the classroom that involve but are not limited to the Six Pillars of Character Education which are: Respect, Fairness, Caring, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, and Citizenship.
Students can ask to meet with me before school or afterschool by filling out a self- referral sheet, or they may be referred to me by a teacher, member of our staff, or parent.
If I can be of any assistance to you please call 236-5375 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
